ARGON Synthesizer App Reviews

A true gem

update and new bank is awesome. Fantastic ui It says right on the description -MONOphonic- that means one note at a time people. Though, you can play over an existing loop...

Its aight.

While some of the reviewers here claim to be pros, and this is THE iPhone synth, I dont and its really not. Its good on the go and it is a great synth but I was expecting more after reading the reviews. It helped me learn to better program vst synths though. Dont buy this if youre looking for a sound like the minimonsta vst. For 1.99 its worth having in my pocket, but nanostudio is the best option imo.

Very Cool App

This is a serious synth not a toy! Just as serious and perhaps better sounding than some of the synths in many Pro Audio Workstations including most of Logic Pros Synths... If I could control the parameters via some wireless key board controller but maybe I an asking to much, deserves a manual of sorts then again I have not checked company website... Thanks for a great fun app....

Great app-update

Love this app. Sounds good and works good on iOs 4. People who dont get the point of a mono synth asking for poliphony are idiots. The ONLY suggestion I would love to see is support for the akai synthstation 25 and line 6 midi mobilizer. -----> Yes! Finally support for midi!!!!!!!

Brilliant!!!

I have both Argon and Xenon and love them both dearly, spending half an hour a day with both. The only things Id like to see is the step sequencer in argon to be variable between 16 and 32 steps, with all in between those two available so we could get some deeper rhythmic options, and also an analog-style looper to coexist with the current one which seems to be step-based. I have the same request for xenon, except it is based on patterns rather than steps. Even within the current limitations though, the sounds of this synth, the presets, and all the tweakability have made my day to day existence better. Very great sounds and excellent controls.

Fantastic App

Does everything it claims to do in a simple and intuitive way.

One of the best sounding synth apps

Also works perfectly with akai synthstation and iphone4. Yes I too would like polyphony but I get it, its mono for a reason. A must buy for its great sound.

Love ice gear apps!

Xenon was the first "studio" app I bought. Since then I have bought all the rest but there is something special about Ice Gears apps. They are clean with a beautiful layout. They also have some of the biggest patch menus and they sound good to boot. I wonder if there is anything else in the works. Please to see the old apps getting updated with core midi. I still would like to see the next big thing from these guys. I will be frost in line. If you havent picked up xenon yet you owe it to yourself to go now and check it out. Very good sounds. Easy to set up. The sequencer is a blast. Few quirks to figure out but overall a stable affair. Five star apps. Five star developers. Thanks

Just buy it!

I love this little app it sounds amazing and works very nicely. Only a couple things would put this over the five star mark - the ability to switch in between "panels" better and as someone previously mentioned a way to record ones arpegiator "sequences" then be able to sync them with a drum app..... In any case this little synth app is a favorite!!!

Great for $1

Anything with this amount of depth for $1 is a great deal. Sounds are quite good with depth. Sequencing is fun and easy. Recommended.

I slept on this one

After almost 3 months from downloading Xenon Groove Synth I have been seeking Synth apps to export and audio clipoard to use in Samplewiz/Geo Synth but kept overlooking Aragon for the fact that I already owned XGS. But after downloading and putting this fun, but powerful synth to the test I was totally amazed and asked myself, "why didnt you downloaded this sooner"? I can understand some of the little knick picks of certain reviewers requesting new features to add to Aragon, but untill there is another update this app still takes care of business! IMO I think its easy to maneuver in Aragon then Addictive Micro, but still both rival as very great apps. This is the real deal here when it comes to creating and layering real cool synth sounds to use in other apps like Beat Maker 2 or Music Studio 2.0. Give Aragon a try, I guarantee you wont be dissapointed.

Worth every penny!!!!!!!

Debating about buying m audio venom even though Im not to into synths....uh... Im good now. This App is AWESOmE!!!

Better than my vintage Korg ms-20

Simply amazing. This app can edit every parameter I can think of from a true analog synth. It even has more. Most analog synths only use two oscillators. This has 3! Great preset patches to get you started. Plenty of banks to write your own sounds to as well. Includes a step sequenced arpegitator which is easy to use. 3 keyboard sizes so playing is easy. You can slide the keyboard to which ever octave u wish as well. I totally recomend this. Only thing Id like to see is a record mode and maybe polyphonic play for chords.

Always down to add a hot synth!!!!

Wanted to get a few analog synths today, grabbed this one first, which was a good first call. Pull up the app in my iphone gotta say I love the fact that I just got this right after the update perfect timing. Takes a little getting used to, it grab me right away you gotta dig around for about an hour or so, Works great with synthstation25 has the ability to paste to audio as well has that old school kinds look and feel to it. I highly recommend it, it even works with my IRiG as well for core midi. Not too much more you can say maybe a desktop version now with a couple of plugins to keep up. Well made synth, think Ill grad the Cassini now.

Older version is better

I liked the older version when you could play it while listening to music on your idevice.

Optimize

Love the app but need to optimized

Time to update no?

iPhone 5 screen? New iPod touch? Cmon people update it with audiobus...

Whats with ice works and Audiobus?

Iceworks make nice sounding thin techno sounding synths. I like them all...but no Audiobus support. Come on. Please update. All IceWorks apps need some updating. Then 5 stars. Thanks

Affordable mono synth with cool sounds

This is an older synth from the makers of Cassini, but I rate it 5 stars for several reasons. Its affordable and has a very small file size. It is very accessible with tons of great presets, but also endless customization options to make new sounds. It even has its own arppegiator and metronome. Finally, it just received AudioBus and virtual MIDI support, so its practical for recording. Any synth at this price that can offer great sounds at a low file size is a great contender to stay on my phone.

Nice little synth

Monophonic only, but that can be good sometimes.
